WORLD LEADERS & POLITICIANS

Also some of this world’s politicians, heads of government, religious leaders, and other notabilities  have been in the hands of Czeslaw Slania’s burin.

  • Winston Churchill (1874-1965), Great Britain.  Winston Churchill enjoyed one of the longest and most interesting lives of any person who has ever lived. From his birth at Blenheim Palace on November 30th, 1874, to his death at Hyde Park Gate in London on January 24, 1965, his life was one of action, controversy, setback and achievement. It was never dull.
  • Charles de Gaulle (1890-1970), President of France 1958-1969.
  • John F. Kennedy (1919-1963), President of the United States of America 1961-1963.  Engraved after the president was murdered in Texas in 1963.
  • Mao Tse-Tung (Mao Zedong), (1893-1976), Chairman of the People’s Republic of China.

Richard Milhous Nixon (January 9, 1913 – April 22, 1994) was the 37th President of the United States, serving from 1969 to 1974, when he became the only president to resign the office. Nixon had previously served as a Republican U.S. Representative and Senator from California and as the 36th Vice President of the United States from 1953 to 1961. He has been the only president of USA who has resigned from his elected.

The label is tagged like a stamp, and is an election campaign label for the election day 8th November 1960, printed 1960, but which was never used.  There are many colour varieties of this label.  The date is wrongly printed, it should have been the American way, showing first the month, then the date, followed by the year, this mean 08.11.1960 and not 11.08.1960.

– Queen Silvia of Sweden (Silvia Renate Sommerlath; born 23 December 1943 in Heidelberg-Germany) is the spouse of King Carl XVI Gustaf and mother of the heir apparent to the throne, Crown Princess Victoria. Since 2011 Queen Silvia has been the longest serving Queen consort of Sweden, a record previously held by her thrice-over predecessor Queen Sophia, consort of King Oscar II.

– Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary; born 21 April 1926) is the constitutional monarch of 16 sovereign states, known as the Commonwealth realms, and their territories and dependencies, and head of the 53-member Commonwealth of Nations. She is Supreme Governor of the Church of England and, in some of her realms, carries the additional title of Defender of the Faith.

Upon her accession on 6 February 1952, Elizabeth became Head of the Commonwealth and queen regnant of seven independent Commonwealth countries: the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan and Ceylon. From 1956 to 1992, the number of her realms varied as territories gained independence and some realms became republics. At present, in addition to the first four of the aforementioned countries, Elizabeth is Queen of Jamaica, Barbados, the Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Belize, Antigua and Barbuda, and Saint Kitts and Nevis. Her reign of 62 years is currently the second longest for a British monarch; only Queen Victoria, her great-great grandmother, has reigned longer, at over 63 years.

– Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (13th February 1913 – 13th June 1982) was the King of Saudi Arabia from 1975 to 1982, being the fourth ruler of the country. His period saw both huge developments in the country due to increase in oil revenues and significant events in the Middle East.
